Plumbing estimate template
PlumberMate AU · Australian trade tools
Prepare an itemised plumbing estimate in AUD, review your business details and export a customer-ready PDF.
Before sending an estimate
- Describe the assessed work and whether it is based on a site visit, photos or a phone discussion.
- List included materials and labour. Make assumptions and exclusions explicit.
- Choose markup or margin deliberately: markup adds to cost; margin is profit as a share of selling price.
- Review call-out charges, additional costs, discounts and GST treatment.
- Add your business contact details, payment terms and optional validity date.
- Check the preview and PDF before sharing; keep a saved estimate for later changes.
Estimate, not a compliance certificate
The template helps organise pricing and scope. It does not establish licensing, contractual sufficiency or plumbing compliance. Review the wording and job conditions before relying on it.
Use sample customer details until your data handling is properly established. Device saving and manual account backup are separate.
Australian plumbing FAQs
What is the difference between markup and margin?
Markup adds a percentage on top of cost. Margin is a percentage of the selling price. On a $100 material cost, 20% markup gives $120, while a 20% margin gives $125. The quote builder labels the method you choose so the two are never confused.
Should my estimate include GST?
Whether GST applies to you depends on your own registration and business circumstances, so check the ATO. The quote builder shows ex-GST, GST and inc-GST totals and lets you switch GST on or off, so you can see both figures before sending.
How long should an estimate stay valid?
That is a business decision — material prices and availability move, and jobs get booked out. PlumberMate AU lets you add an optional validity date so the customer sees the date your figures stand until.
Can I save and reuse estimates?
Yes. Estimates save automatically on your device and can be reopened, updated, duplicated or deleted. Quote numbers, an optional validity date, saved customer details and your business profile with logo and payment terms all carry into the customer preview and the PDF export.
Are my estimates stored in the cloud?
They are saved automatically in the browser you are using. Cloud backup happens only when you sign in and choose “Back up this device”, and restoring replaces the quote and checklist data on that device after you confirm. Until your data handling is properly established, use sample customer details rather than real ones.
Educational and estimating aids only. For plumbing, drainage or gas work, verify assumptions against current Australian standards, manufacturer instructions and local requirements. These tools do not replace professional assessment.
